December 1st, 2016 - During the 60th annual Unilever Research Prize event in 2016, Unilever nominated three dutch start-ups for the the Sustainable Innovation Prize. The price focusses on companies which contribute to the Global Goals. Rural Spark was proud to be one of the nominees and to present during the Unilever Research Prize ceremony.
The Jury was headed by Kitty van der Heijden, Director of the World Resources Institute Europe and Africa, and member of the Supervisory Board Unilever Netherlands.
Paul Polman, CEO of Unilever, awarded Rural Spark as the Runner-Up and will support us to enable projects together with their Global Partnerships & Advocacy team focussing on providing Livelihoods. Together Unilever and Rural Spark are now exploring possibilities to provide even more villagers with access to energy, catalysing development and livelihood.
